I can't believe it's week three here. I've been here for a total of 18 days (counting today) and it feels like I was home yesterday. It also feels like I have been here for ages. I love everything about the MTC. The Spirit is so strong! The fall colors are beautiful and the weather is how it should be, crisp and chilly. For all of you Texans, "Fall" is a time of year where the leaves are suppose to change colors and the weather is supposed to get colder, crazy I know. Haha it's so gorgeous. The mountains are so beautiful in the morning when the sun rises and peeks over splashing the sky with beautiful pastel/cotton candy colors.
Sunday I was sick so I unfortunately missed sacrament meeting. It was nice to just relax and get better though! On Wednesday, we got to Host new missionaries coming into the MTC! It was so fun!! We helped them get all their luggage, their new books, their rooms, and to their classrooms. I hosted two girls and they were super sweet. I saw one little girl hugging her brother and she wouldn't let go! It was so sad! We also had a super awesome lesson in class later that day. The Spanish is getting better and better! We decided as a companionship that on Wednesday or Thursday next week we are going to have a fast from English for half a day! It will definitely be interesting, but I'm excited to see how much I really know. I am so grateful to have such wonderful and inspiring companions and roommates. They inspire me so much with their incredible journeys and each of them is completely different.
There is a scripture that we have been using a lot this week in our lessons and I really wanted to share it with you all.
"And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christthe Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall."
Helaman 5:12
We can get so caught up in the twists and turns, the hurricanes and tornadoes of life that get thrown at us that we forget that those things are from Satan. He wants us to be miserable. But if we can remember to turn to Our Heavenly Father and build a foundation upon Our Savior Jesus Christ we will be able to make it through anything and everything that Satan throws our way.
I am so grateful for this gospel and for all of you who have been so supportive of me. I know that Our Heavenly Father loves all of us and has a specific plan for each of our lives. Trust in Him.
Just a reminder: My P-day is going to be on Saturdays while I'm in the MTC. Also, I would LOVE if you all would send me pictures (by snail mail) so I can hang them up on my walls! Also, if you want to send me an email, but don't want me to have to wait until Saturday to read it you can go DearElder.com and type in my Unit number which is 94 and my mission Utah Logan and I type away! They will print it out and deliver it to me the same day!
Thank you all for the love that you've shown me! I can't wait to hear from you all.
Love always,
Hermana Brown
